Onder een, als ik zo onbescheiden mag zijn, interessant pseudoniem, heb ik een roman geschreven, De Winter van het Plan, die ik graag onder de aandacht wil brengen. Het is een kloek boek geworden, waarin de geschiedenis verteld wordt van een kunstenaarskolonie in een stil dorp ergens op de Balearen en hoe het onmogelijk geachte toch realiteit dreigt te worden. Het is een verhaal over vriendschap en verraad, traditie en vernieuwing, ontheemding en Heimat, hoofd- en handenarbeid. Maar vooral is het een verhaal over liefde, voor het landschap en voor mensen die het verdienen.

One-off, shameless self promotion.

I wrote a novel, De winter van het Plan (translated: The Winter of the Plan), under, I may perhaps be so bold to add, and interesting pseudonym. It has become a substantial book, in wich the history is told of an art colony on one of the Balearic islands and how the seemingly impossible nevertheless threatens to become reality. It’s a story about friendship and betrayal, tradition and renewal, displacement and home, brain- and manual labour. But above all, it’s a story about love, for the landscape and for the people who deserve it.

The novel is witten in Dutch, so maybe not everyone will be able to read it. The disadvantage of living in a country with a beautiful but not widely spoken language. Still, it’s for sale.
